Customer Prerequisites
Required Products
You need:
- Microsoft Entra ID tenant.
- Microsoft Purview account with Data Map access.
- Databricks workspace with Unity Catalog enabled.
Required Roles
Coordinate with these owners before installation:
| Owner | Needed For |
|---|---|
| Marketplace purchaser | Subscribe to the SaaS plan. |
| Entra administrator | Consent to the Lineage Advisor application when required. |
| Purview administrator | Grant Data Map and collection access. |
| Databricks administrator | Create a service principal or token with Unity Catalog metadata access. |
Network Requirements
Allow outbound HTTPS access from Lineage Advisor to:
- Microsoft login and Graph endpoints.
- Microsoft Purview account endpoint.
- Databricks workspace and account endpoints.
If the deployment requires IP allow-listing, request the current egress details from Lineage Advisor support.
Data Preparation
Before the first sync:
- Confirm which Purview collection should receive Lineage Advisor assets.
- Confirm which Databricks catalogs and schemas are in scope.
- Confirm whether notebook, job, and pipeline metadata can be included.
- Confirm whether column-level lineage should be synced where available.
