Troubleshooting
Marketplace Redirect Fails
Check:
- The Marketplace purchase was completed or preview purchase is active.
- Browser pop-up and redirect blockers are not preventing the landing page.
- The redirect URL matches the Lineage Advisor landing URL configured in Partner Center.
Do not share full redirect URLs with support if they contain authorization codes, tokens, or other sensitive query parameters. Provide the timestamp, browser, tenant, and sanitized error text instead.
Sign-In Fails
Check:
- The user is in the expected Microsoft Entra tenant.
- Admin consent is approved if required.
- Conditional Access policies allow the application.
- The user is included in the configured preview audience if the offer is private or in evaluation.
If Conditional Access, MFA, or tenant restrictions block sign-in, the customer's Microsoft Entra administrator may need to review policy logs.
Purview Validation Fails
Check:
- Purview account endpoint is correct.
- Target collection exists.
- Application identity has required Data Map and collection permissions.
- Network rules allow the connector to reach Purview.
- Token consent was granted in the correct tenant.
Use a scoped application identity and collection permissions appropriate for the pilot or production collection. Avoid using broad tenant-wide permissions unless they are explicitly required and approved by the customer.
Databricks Validation Fails
Check:
- Workspace URL is correct.
- Token or service principal is active.
- Catalog and schema names are in scope.
- Unity Catalog is enabled.
- Metadata and lineage APIs are available for the selected scope.
For production use, prefer service principals or other managed credentials over personal access tokens where supported by the customer's Databricks configuration.
Sync Completes But Assets Are Missing
Check:
- Target collection mapping.
- Catalog/schema filters.
- Sync summary skipped-item counts.
- Source API limitations.
- Whether the asset already exists under a different qualified name.
If troubleshooting requires logs or screenshots, redact tokens, secrets, private workspace URLs where necessary, unrelated personal information, and any data that is not needed to diagnose the issue.
Contact Support
Include:
- Tenant name.
- Marketplace subscription ID, if available.
- Sync run ID.
- Purview collection name.
- Databricks workspace URL without secrets.
- Screenshot or error message.
Do not include passwords, client secrets, personal access tokens, private keys, or unredacted bearer tokens.
Support may request additional diagnostic information such as timestamps, sanitized request IDs, non-sensitive configuration details, or a short reproduction sequence. Customers should only provide information they are authorized to share.
